Building a net zero future through strategic investment.

A personal commitment to accelerating a widespread transition to a sustainable, carbon-neutral economy. One investment at a time.

Why Net Zero Matters Now

The window to meaningfully address environmental change is narrowing. The science is settled, but the capital is not yet aligned. The Connor Willoughby Net Zero Campaign exists to close that gap, directing private investment into the businesses and technologies that will define the low-carbon economy.

On a voluntary basis, Mr. Willoughby personally evaluates each investment against a rigorous set of environmental and operational standards. This is an independent choice, driven by a personal commitment to backing businesses that prioritise long-term ecological health and resource efficiency.

Through rigorous evaluation, long-term thinking, and a commitment to advancing a climate-positive future, this campaign backs founders, operators, and innovators who are building the infrastructure for a net zero world.

"The transition to net zero is not a cost to be managed. It is the greatest economic opportunity of our generation."

Wildlife and Nature

We share this planet with millions of extraordinary species. Many of them are disappearing faster than at any point in human history, and in most cases, we are the reason. Habitat destruction, poaching, pollution, climate change, and the illegal wildlife trade have pushed thousands of animals to the very edge of existence.

Connor Willoughby believes that a genuine green ethos cannot stop at carbon. It must extend to the web of life that sustains us. Protecting biodiversity is not a separate cause from fighting climate change. They are the same cause. A planet with a stable climate but no whales, no elephants, and no rainforests is not a planet worth saving.

Below are just a few of the species that remind us how urgent this moment is. Each one is a warning sign, and each one is still here, which means there is still time.

Critically Endangered

North Atlantic Right Whale

Fewer than 360 individuals remaining

Entanglement in fishing gear and ship strikes kill them faster than they can reproduce. Females produce only one calf every three to five years, making recovery painfully slow.

Critically Endangered

Blue Whale

10,000 to 25,000 individuals remaining

The largest animal ever to live on Earth was hunted to near-extinction across the 20th century. Ocean noise pollution, ship strikes, and climate-driven prey loss continue to threaten them.

Critically Endangered

Vaquita Porpoise

Fewer than 10 individuals remaining

Found only in Mexico's Gulf of California, drowning in illegal gillnets has reduced a species that numbered over 600 in 1997 to the absolute edge of extinction.

Critically Endangered

Amur Leopard

Approximately 130 individuals remaining

Found only in a small region of Russia's far east and north-eastern China. Habitat loss, prey scarcity, and poaching for its spotted coat have pushed it to critical numbers.

Critically Endangered

Sumatran Orangutan

Approximately 13,400 individuals remaining

Deforestation for palm oil plantations has destroyed vast swathes of Sumatran rainforest. Forest loss in the crucial Aceh ecosystem remains the single biggest variable in their survival.

Critically Endangered

African Forest Elephant

Declined over 80% in the last century

Poaching for ivory and habitat fragmentation have devastated this species. They occupy only 25% of their historic range. As ecosystem engineers, their loss reshapes entire forests.

Critically Endangered

Black Rhinoceros

Approximately 6,421 individuals remaining

Poaching for the illegal horn trade wiped out over 98% of black rhinos in just decades. Conservation has rebuilt populations slowly, but illegal killings remain highly critical.

Critically Endangered

Hawksbill Sea Turtle

Population declined over 80% in last century

Hunted for their shells, entangled in fishing nets, and losing vital nesting beaches to rising sea levels. They have survived for 100 million years but face extinction in our lifetime.

Endangered

Emperor Penguin

Reclassified as Endangered in 2026

Recent ecological assessments have reclassified the Emperor Penguin as Endangered in 2026 as Antarctic sea ice retreats at record pace. If warming continues, models project over 90% of Emperor Penguin colonies could be near-extinct by the end of this century.

The Water Crisis

Recent environmental research indicates that many regions have entered an era of "water bankruptcy." This state occurs when human demand and the depletion of natural water systems exceed replenishment rates to a point that may be irreversible, marking a fundamental shift from temporary scarcity to a permanent new condition.

Only 3% of all water on Earth is freshwater. Of that, roughly 2.5% is locked in glaciers and ice caps. This leaves just 0.5% as accessible freshwater for every human being, animal, and food system on the planet, and we are using it faster than it can be replenished.

Worldwide freshwater demand is projected to outstrip supply by 40% by 2030. Agriculture alone consumes approximately 70% of freshwater withdrawals worldwide. Aquifers that took thousands of years to fill are being drained in decades.

Connor Willoughby sees water protection as inseparable from the net zero mission. Wetlands store carbon. Forests regulate rainfall. Glaciers feed rivers. Every investment in a greener world is, in part, an investment in water security.

"The challenge of water scarcity is not a temporary crisis, but a profound and lasting shift in environmental conditions... demanding fundamental changes in how we manage and value this essential element."

The Campaign Origin

Connor Willoughby is an entrepreneur and sustainability-focused investor whose conviction in the net zero transition has shaped both his professional and personal philosophy. Raised with a deep respect for the natural world, Connor has spent his career seeking the intersection of commercial rigour and environmental purpose.

Founded in 2026, the Connor Willoughby Net Zero Campaign is Mr. Willoughby's personal vehicle for backing companies built on the pillars of net zero, sustainability, and a genuine green ethos. From ocean carbon removal to circular consumer tech, the campaign supports founders and businesses that treat environmental impact not as a side note, but as a founding principle. Looking ahead, Mr. Willoughby's ambition is to grow the portfolio to over 25 investments by 2036, spanning every sector of the green economy.

Mr. Willoughby's investment thesis is straightforward: the companies that will define the next era of commerce are those building with the planet in mind from day one. He backs businesses that demonstrate substantive environmental performance, a commitment to reducing or reversing their carbon footprint, and a product or service that makes sustainable living more accessible for everyday consumers and industries alike.

On a personal basis, Mr. Willoughby voluntarily aligns this campaign with independent environmental principles and evidence-based research. This commitment focuses on critical areas such as climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, and responsible resource management. This approach is entirely self-directed, reflecting a personal dedication to advancing ecological stewardship through strategic investment.
